The Only Excel Sheet You Need to Track
Clients, Revenue, and Projects

Running a design studio means juggling creativity and cash flow — and for a long time, I
was winging the second part.

Client names? Scattered in emails.
Project types? Not really tracked.
Earnings? Tracked… in a slightly sad Google Doc. 😅
Then I made one small change that changed everything:

An Excel template.
Not just rows and columns —
but a smart, self-updating dashboard that shows:

How much we’re earning (and from where)
Which projects are profitable
Which months are slow
And what kind of work we should say yes to more often

I even use it to track referrals, taxes, project categories, and how much risk we have with overdependence on any one client.

The best part?
This sheet has literally influenced business decisions — like when to pitch dev work, when to diversify
clients, and when to say no.

“What you track, improves.”
And this sheet helps me track everything that matters.

If you’d like to try it out, I’m sharing the exact template we use at Studio Mesmer.
